LIMA/CUZCO/MACHU PICCHU
Discovered in 1911, Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas" is a beautifully preserved enormous stone city nestled on a terraced plateau, surrounded by three towering green mountain peaks, where llamas roam on the slopes.
Day 1: Arrival in Lima, meeting and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Morning city tour of Lima, overnight hotel.
Day 3: Transfer to airport for flight to Cuzco, on arrival transfer to your hotel, morning free to adjust to the 11,200 ft altitude, afternoon city tour of Cuzco and Ollantaytambo ruins, overnight hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to train for 3 hour alpine excursion to Machu Picchu, lunch enroute, afternoon guided tour of the famous "Lost City", overnight hotel.
Day 5: Morning free to explore the ruins on your own before returning to Cuzco in the afternoon, overnight hotel.
Day 6: Transfer to airport for return flight to Lima.
